Privacy Policy
How AL TAX SERVICE collects, uses, and protects your information — including our SMS and WhatsApp communications program.
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Overview
AL TAX SERVICE ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website and our client portal, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have — including your choices around text and WhatsApp messages.
Information We Collect
We collect the information below. Some of it you give us directly; some is collected automatically when you visit.
- Contact form: name, company name, phone number, email address, your message, whether you ticked the text-message box (with the date and time), and the IP address the form was sent from
- Appointment booking: your name, phone number and/or email, the time you chose, and any notes you add. If your email address matches an existing client record, the appointment is linked to that record.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address, the IP address it was sent from, and the date you confirmed or unsubscribed
- Free tools: if you ask us to follow up from a tool page, your name, email, phone number, and the answers you entered in that tool. Nothing is sent to us until you submit the follow-up form.
- Mobile phone number and consent status, if you opt in to receive text or WhatsApp messages from us
- Visit counts: the page you viewed, the domain name of the site that referred you, whether you use a phone or a computer, and a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address, browser and the date, which lets us count visitors without storing your IP address. This is skipped if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
- Your language preference, stored locally in your browser
- If you become a client: the personal and financial information needed to do the work — for example Social Security numbers, EINs, bank account details, income and payroll records, and the documents you give us in person, by phone or email, or through the client portal. See “Client Information and Tax Return Privacy” below.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and schedule consultations
- Provide the tax, accounting, payroll, and corporate compliance services you request
- Send appointment confirmations and reminders, tax deadline reminders, and service-related updates by phone, email, text, or WhatsApp — text and WhatsApp only where you've consented or given us your number for that purpose
- Count visits to understand which pages are useful, keep the website secure, and prevent abuse
- Keep the records we need and meet our legal and professional obligations
Client Information and Tax Return Privacy
When you become a client, we collect the personal and financial information needed to do the work. We use and disclose tax return information only to prepare and file your returns and provide the services you ask for, as the law requires or allows, or with your written consent. Federal law (Internal Revenue Code section 7216) restricts what a tax return preparer may do with tax return information. As a tax preparation business we are also a “financial institution” under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act: we do not sell your nonpublic personal information or share it with outside companies for their own marketing. Individual clients receive our written Client Privacy Notice when the engagement begins, and you can ask us for another copy at any time.
SMS & WhatsApp Communications
If you opt in to receive text or WhatsApp messages from AL TAX SERVICE, your mobile phone number and consent will never be sold, shared, or rented to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. We share the number only with the messaging provider that delivers our messages (Twilio, and WhatsApp for WhatsApp messages). Opt-in data is used solely to deliver the communications you signed up for. Message and data rates may apply, message frequency varies, and you may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Full program details are available in our SMS & WhatsApp Terms.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with: (1) service providers that help us run our services, limited to what they need — our hosting and database providers (Railway and Neon), our email delivery provider (Resend), and our text and WhatsApp provider (Twilio); (2) the IRS, the Comptroller of Maryland, and other agencies, e-filing platforms and payroll platforms, when we file or process something for you; (3) anyone you ask us to share with; and (4) others where required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights.
Cookies, Local Storage & Third-Party Content
This website does not set cookies, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking. It stores your language choice (English/Arabic) in your browser's local storage. We count visits with our own privacy-friendly counter, described above. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google's servers (Google receives your IP address and browser information, as with any website that loads those fonts). Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. Some forms (contact, newsletter and tools) also record the IP address they were sent from, to prevent abuse.
Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information you share with us. In our systems, Social Security numbers, EINs, bank account and routing numbers, saved payment details, secure-vault passwords, uploaded documents, government-form data, and two-factor secrets are encrypted in storage; account passwords are stored only as one-way hashes; connections to this website and the portal use HTTPS; access is limited by role; and backups are encrypted. Other information, such as names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and invoice amounts, is protected by access controls and by our hosting providers but is not separately encrypted field by field. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank details, or passwords through the contact form, a text message, or ordinary email — use the secure client portal or call us.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep client records for as long as we need them to provide services and to meet legal and professional requirements. Tax return records are generally kept for several years (the IRS periods for auditing or amending a return are commonly 3 to 7 years, and longer in some cases). Website messages, appointment requests, and tool follow-up requests that do not lead to a client engagement are kept only as long as needed to respond to them and for our business records. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again. Visit counts contain no personal identifiers.
Your Choices
- Opt out of text/WhatsApp messages at any time by replying STOP, or by telling us in any reasonable way
- Unsubscribe from our email newsletter using the link in any newsletter email
- Contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to ask us to delete it. We honor reasonable requests, except where we must keep information to meet legal or professional obligations (for example, tax return records).
Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for individuals 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
